Intellectual Suicide first appeared in June 1980, containing all the poems included above. It was printed by Birkenhead Press and appeared as an A5 book in a green cover, causing it to be referred to by many as "The Green Book". The front cover bore the words "First Edition", although many people questioned whether a second edition would ever appear. It is now my pleasure to bring you that second edition, not as a book, but as a computer work. Also on this site you can find essays from the same period and a collection of poems and fragments which formed the nucleus of the unpublished sequel to Intellectual Suicide, which had the working title of "Optical Illusion".
If you enjoyed Intellectual Suicide, you should visit
(and other poems of love and desperation).
