Can We Not Dream?
by Ian
-
Can we not dream, if there were no ....
And no love in her heart for him
That she would love me as I love her
And such feelings would be returned.
-
Can we not dream, if there were no ....
That our minds would be separate
But then merge together and become as one
A strong power that can all unite.
-
Can we not dream, if there were no ....
That we'd share all we want to share
And would speak our minds if we wanted to
With the joy that such words would bring.
-
Can we not dream, if there were no ....
That our insults would be no more
If we loved each other we'd tell ourselves
And ask if that mean any more.
-
Can we not dream, if there were no ....
Or absolute truth for the world
That a better place soon would exist
Powered by joy, faith, hope and love.
-
Can we not dream, if there were no ....
And a sky where no birds may sing
That the world and our lives would be cold and grey
With no future to look up for.
-
Can we not dream, if there were no ....
And we were alone on this earth
That in fact we would be as we were tonight
As friends very pure, as we are.
-
Can we not dream, if there were no ....
That that's how we always shall be
I was wrong I accept now and maybe will cry
But I know fully know where I stand.
-
Can we not dream, if there were no ....
That I would now be so much more alone
But now while no friends have I recently made
Fulfilment's a pearl that I found.
-
Can we not dream, if there were no ....
Of a poem of love without end
Through my love for you in some way returned
Significance dwindles away.
-
Can we not dream, if there were no ....
And I could stop dying inside
And the numbness my mind feels could come to an end
That I'd shout how I love you to you.
-
Can we not dream, if there were no ....
How different my life would now be.
But there is so it's not and the tragedy is
That we'll never know now what could be.
-
Can we not dream, if there were no ....
That I'd still not know quite what to say
And be wrong and do harm to a beautiful friend
Or damage my own inner self.
-
Can we not dream, if there were no ....
Or a fear that is still alive
That I'll go through my years as a hemit does live
On my own, rich in wealth, poor in friends.
